Today we broke up into groups of 4 or 5 and found quotes that had to do with the theme topics of race, gender, hopes & dreams, poverty, and love. Each group is to find two or three examples and share them with the class on the board.
Other things to know for the test: Know what a metaphor is! I will give you a small passage from the play that includes a metaphor. You need to identify the metaphor and explain what the speaker really means.
You also need to review the story’s specific setting, what everyone’s dream included, an example of irony, where the title comes from, Beneatha’s decisions about George and Asagai, the symbolism of the plant, etc.
