Today we read through the major scenes of MSND and reached Act IV. We also reviewed these terms in the do now:
alliteration—Repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of words.
Mickey Mouse met Minney on Monday
assonance—repetition of vowel sounds within words near each other.
The full moon helped set the mood
consonance—repetition of consonant sounds, especially at the middle or end of words.
Haste, haste, that we might move swiftly.
After the reading we did a little writing on the following questions. We will discuss them tomorrow in class:
- What happens to us when we “fall in love”?
- Do you believe in “love at first sight”?
- Do you think dreams have any significance?
- What was the most vivid dream you remember having?
Homework: Worksheet on literary devices. Vocab quiz is Friday!
Honors: Your block will be taking the AFD quiz for parts 1-3. We’ll discuss the story too. We’ll also read some texts associated with our story. “The Mustache” and “A Refusal to Mourn…”
Your surveys should be finishing up as you’ll be given half the block on Thursday/Friday to work in the writing center.
