Today in class I assigned a 40-line poem about anything. Please do not write a poem with end rhyme. It may be spoken word (which we’ll cover today) or free verse, etc. I don’t want 40 lines of rhymes though (it would be tedious!).
This will be due on late-start Monday. In class we’ll be writing a 10-15 line poem about a dark secret, a skeleton in the closet, etc. The thing is, you’ll write cryptically so that none of us know what you’re writing about. This teaches (forces!) you to use symbolism, metaphor, etc.
Did I overuse etc. in this entry? Probably so.
